Plural Supports Clarion Events on Acquisition of Consero

Plural is delighted to have supported Clarion on its acquisition of Consero.

Clarion delivers a portfolio of events and media brands across a range of vertical markets globally, in both live and digital formats.

Consero is a US-based hosted meetings provider focused primarily on enterprise technology for the legal and compliance sectors, and is a leading organisers of one-to-one meetings for senior executives.

The acquisition provides Clarion with a strong position in the legal sector and adds further depth to its 1-2-1 matchmaking capability, following on from its acquisition of Quartz in 2020.

Commercial Due Diligence

Plural helped Clarion in identifying the drivers of strength and sustainability of the business and uniqueness of its offer within the hosted buyer landscape, as well as significant further growth opportunities.

Operational Due Diligence

Plural’s operational due diligence provided a complete mapping of core processes and technical capability and scalability, ensuring that Clarion could begin value creation from Day 1.

The Value of Face-to-Face Formats

Our work confirmed the value and resilience of matchmaking and hosted meetings, and the continuing potential for digital formats alongside a clear appetite for a return to face to face once conditions allow.

The acquisition of Consero is an important development for Clarion, adding another highly customer centric model and capability. The deal was enabled by Plural’s work, which was grounded in data and delivered highly usable insights to underpin the business case.
